The Brief: To create an illustrated poster design and festival branding for a multidisciplinary arts festival conference.
Role: Illustrator responsible for concept, design, and implementation of all lettering and illustration. This was a personal project with a brief provided by Owen and Tori Phillips-Walmsley from Oat Studio.
Tools Used: Procreate app, iPad Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Apple pencil.
The task was to design an illustrated poster and branding elements for an imaginary creative conference and festival that celebrates the convergence of art, technology, music, film, and innovative ideas. The aim was for the poster to capture the vibrant, interdisciplinary spirit of the event, while inviting a diverse audience to join in the celebration of creativity and new ideas, and to be created in a flexible manner so that parts could be used for multiple formats and festival elements.
I created an idea that used multiple shapes to signify the interdisciplinary elements that built up to create the festival. The shapes are all shapes, sizes, and colors to highlight diversity of people and subjects that all slot together in a puzzle to create one big whole. The lettering for the festival name and dates are stacked amongst the elements in a way that is intriguing and invites a closer look, just like the topics of the festival.

In order to be flexible for the conference, the elements are moveable, so this alternate design was created to use on t-shirts and tote-bags to promote the arts festival branding in a new way.
