Bloom Coffee Packaging Illustration

A lovely way to wake up in the morning, this coffee packaging illustration featured on the “Morning Ritual” coffee blend features lovely flowers, and a sunny mug of coffee to let your morning bloom.

The Brief: To create an illustration that speaks to a morning ritual for a Bloom coffee blend coffee packaging design

Role: Illustrator responsible for concept, design, and implementation of all lettering and illustration. Branding, color palette, and logo provided.

Tools Used: Procreate app, iPad Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Apple pencil.

A relaxing morning that blooms and invigorates was the concept behind this pretty floral coffee illustration for a coffee packaging pouch. Created as part of a brief from Lynn Bremner and Inky Goodness for a packaging design course, this illustration highlights the sunny morning awakening of a fresh coffee brew. The brand logo and colors were provided, and I developed two final illustrations that could be used for the coffee pouch package. In the end, the floral one spoke a bit more to a relaxing morning so that was the final one selected, but the other illustration featuring more imagery of morning routines is still a fun artwork. The final pouch is bright, fun, pretty, and has great shelf appeal.

Initial sketches for the Bloom Morning Ritual coffee blend packaging illustration. These sketches were a good starting point, but the final illustration changed a bit as I developed it further and had client feedback.

I chose to develop two of the sketches into more organized color sketches, roughly blocking in color and testing them on the coffee pouch packaging. The green package really let the illustration stand out, so that was chosen as the color route.

The alternate illustration created for the coffee packaging design, this cute morning ritual illustration was still favored by the client, but the floral cup route was chosen as final. This coffee illustration is still one of my favorites, and is a great art print!
