The Brief: To create an illustration series featuring specific foods to highlight local foods, favorite menu items, and lettering.

Role: Graphic designer and illustrator responsible for concept, design, and implementation of all lettering and illustration.

Tools Used: Procreate app, iPad Pro, Apple pencil.

I was on vacation and enjoying some of my favorite food items, so I decided as a personal project to feature them in bold, graphic illustration infographics that featured the food item, called out all the ingredients, and had hand-drawn lettering featuring the food name prominently displayed. I decided to continue the series with some of my favorite or notable dishes I’ve had in my life, and expanded to include some very tasty specialty foods. More in this series to come.

This illustration series and my thoughts on comfort food was also featured on the blog for Greater than 11% in May 2020 where I discuss my relationship with foods in the COVID-19 quarantine, in combination with a panel discussion they ran. Thanks to the team at Great than 11% for featuring me and my work, and allowing me to share my artwork and write my story.
