Woman lifestyle illustration / editorial illustration: One in a series of lifestyle illustrations of women with drinks and flowers, showing wellness, tea, and positive women artwork. This was for the theme Daisy Dreams and I drew a woman enjoying a cup of tea surrounded by flowers.

The Brief: A personal project started with the prompt list from “June in Bloom” that I was inspired by and then created my own separate series of editorial women’s lifestyle illustrations.

Role: Illustrator responsible for concept, design, and implementation of all lettering and illustration based on the monthly prompts for June in Bloom.

Tools Used: Procreate app, iPad Pro, Apple pencil, Photoshop.

In June 2022, some artists on Instagram created a monthly prompt list called June in Bloom with floral prompts each week of the month of June. The prompts were as follows: Daisy Dreams, Tropical Blooms, Pink Lemonade, Cactus Garden, and Wildflower Meadow. I decided to take the prompt as a starting-point of inspiration and create a miniature editorial scene with a small-sized woman illustration representing me interacting with a drink or cocktail, and then surrounded by flowers. In addition, I added some lettering with some word play or pun on each illustration. The resulting series of 5 illustrations were super fun and show a directions I’d like to explore more with women’s lifestyle illustration and integrating lettering and illustration with images of women.
